1. Which app and developer this applies to
This deletion request process applies to the KY Join VPN application (listed on Google Play as “KY Join VPN”), published by the developer KY Join.
It covers the account you created in the app and the data linked to that account across our services.
2. How to request account deletion
To request deletion of your KY Join VPN account and associated data, follow these steps:
- Send an email to [email protected] from the email address registered to your KY Join VPN account.
- Use the subject line “Account Deletion Request”.
- In the message body, include the account email you signed up with so we can locate and verify your account.
- Send the email. We may reply to the same address to confirm your identity before deleting the account.
- After verification, we will delete your account and associated data as described below and email you a confirmation.
We will process verified deletion requests within 30 days. If a request is delayed for legal or technical reasons, we will let you know.
You can also stop all local data collection at any time by logging out and uninstalling the app; uninstalling alone does not delete your server-side account.
3. Data that will be deleted
Once your deletion request is verified, we delete or irreversibly anonymize the account-related data we hold, including:
- Account and authentication data — your email address, hashed password, and login/session tokens.
- Device and environment data linked to your account — device identifier, device type, app/OS version, network type, language preference, and approximate (country/city) location derived at login.
- VPN connection metadata linked to your account — session records, selected node/region and routing mode, and custom routing rules you saved.
- Membership and referral attribution linked to your account (subject to the retention exceptions in Section 4).
- Diagnostic and error reports associated with your account.
4. Data that may be retained, and for how long
Some records may be retained after account deletion where we are legally required to keep them or need them for legitimate purposes such as fraud prevention, security, tax, and accounting. In these cases the data is kept only as long as necessary and then deleted or anonymized:
- Payment and billing records (e.g., order number, plan, payment status, amount) — retained for up to 5 years to meet tax, accounting, and legal obligations, then deleted or anonymized.
- Security and abuse-prevention logs (e.g., limited login/audit records) — retained for up to 12 months, then deleted or anonymized.
- Standard web server logs from the website/download infrastructure (e.g., IP address, user agent) — retained for up to 90 days for security and capacity planning.
- Backups — residual copies in encrypted backups are purged on our normal backup rotation, within 90 days.
We do not retain the contents of your VPN traffic, DNS queries, or the specific sites/apps you used while connected, because we do not collect them in the first place.
Retained records are not used to re-identify you for marketing and are removed once the applicable retention period ends.
